Greetings from Scotland,
I have a quick query regarding the elections in Goa...
I have heard varying rumours regarding the impact state elections are having upon Goa at the moment and am hoping someone can help clear it up a bit for me.
I plan on arriving in South Goa (either Agonda, Palolem or Patnem) on 18th Feb. I understand alcohol bans and curfews will be in place during this time. From what I understand this is already in place in south goa.
I am not a drinker(This is very strange ...

ohhhh.... and I forgot to ask... are these monkeys only hanging out at certain times of the year? (aka - the winter?) Or is there snow up in the mountains all the time... so any time of the year you'd be able to see them????
ps - Can't beleive I'm going to Japan JUST to see monkeys!!!! ha ha ha.

What the best/easiest/cheapest way (I realize those 3 options could yield multiple conflicting responses....) to get from Beijing to Xi An (to see the Terracotta Army/Warriors). Car hire? Flying? Train? Tourist Bus? Does anyone have any good advice about this???

I'm planning a whirlwind trip to Asia (Japan, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand)... and I'm wondering if you need to fly from 'major hub' to 'major hub'. Would Chiang Mai be considered a major hub? Or would I have to fly into Bangkok, then make my way up north??
Any clue what airlines I shoudl be looking at to figure out the best direction to go???

but i have many responsibilities here in Bali. so i guess after me and my girlfriend got marry, i can stay together with her. But in the mean time, i'll just have to plan to visit her once every six months.

Hello All,
I'm looking for a wee bit of advice regarding a visit to Mt Abu in March. I'll travel there from Kumta (Karnataka) by train. I plan on staying in Mt Abu for around 4 days.
Firstly, I'm looking for a guesthouse. As I'm travelling solo I'd love to stay in sociable lodgings. Somewhere with a garden or rooftop cafe would be amazing. My budget is around 300-400 Rupees per night.
I'm also hoping to do a little trek from Mt Abu. I've seen that some trekking companies offer 2 day 1 ...

I'm hoping for a bit of help with regards to somewhere to stay in Udaipur. I travel to Udaipur on the 9th March and am planning on staying for around 1 week.
